Visiting Decatur Island is easy and has obvious advantages over public ferry-serviced islands. No waiting, no lines - you design your trip around your needs. And once you get here, doing nothing is the main event.
Island Access
Two private ferries service the Island - Island Express Charters and Paraclete Charter Services. Both make several trips to and from the island daily from Anacortes. Simply call or text to schedule your trip in advance.
Half ownership in a Decatur Shores lot grants access and use of the Decatur Island Airstrip, which is a private, community-maintained landing strip offering a convenient gateway to the island. Nestled among the natural beauty of the San Juans, it provides quick access for residents and visitors arriving by small plane.
The Trip Up
Getting to Decatur is half the fun. Stop at locally-loved Snow Goose Produce in the Skagit Valley for a world-famous giant ice cream and seasonal goodies, grab your big items at Costco in Marysville, wine from Compass Wines and a delicious sandwich from GERE-A-DELI in Anacortes.
