Why are the owners selling?
After 30 years on the island the owners plan to spend more time in their native home of Australia.
What does Amaroo mean?
In an Australian aboriginal dialect “amaroo” means “a beautiful place”.
How is water supplied ?
The property is serviced by a 350 deep well producing over 1000 gallons of water per day (the minimum required for a domestic permit by the County is 200 gpd. This is supplemented by a rain water harvesting system with two 2500 holding tanks, one for potable water and one for the garden.
How does the property get power?
The property has rights to 40 units from the local solar farm providing ongoing credits to power cost from the County co-op (Opalco).
What is the heating system?
The main house utilizes a heat pump with a back up fireplace. The guest house has a wall heater, and the cabin has a forced air heat system.
What is the weather like?

The property was built with the environment and long-term sustainability in mind.
In a more general sense the property has been designed to blend into the forest and water front environment with the use of fire resistant materials and soft green color pallets. The main house has been “fire wised”.
